What conditions does Reconcile treat?
As an aid in the treatment of separation-related disorders in dogs manifested by destruction and inappropriate behaviours (vocalisation and inappropriate defecation and/or urination) and only in combination with behavioural modification techniques.
How does Reconcile work?
It contains Fluoxitine which is a selective serotonin uptake inhibitor (SSRI) so helps keep levels at nerve synapses high. Serotonin helps control anxiety, among other things, so it helps with a calmer frame of mind.
How should I administer Reconcile to my pet?
It comes as a chewable tablet so is given by mouth
What is the correct dosage of Reconcile for my animal's weight and species?
The correct dose for your animal is as prescribed by your vet. Your vet will follow the data sheet for the medication prescribed and for some medications will adjust this taking into consideration your animal's medical history.
How long should I continue with Reconcile for?
You should continue for the length of time your vet prescribed the medication for. Please read the label your vet has attached to the medication. If you suspect that your pet may be having an adverse reaction to a medication, please contact your vet for advice on continuing the medication.

Can Reconcile Tablets be split/halved?
The dose will usually be for a whole number of tablets, so no need to split them.
Can Reconcile Tablets be given to cats?
It is licensed for dogs.
Are there any side effects of Reconcile Tablets?
Though rare, seizures may occur in dogs treated with Reconcile. Treatment should be stopped if seizures occur.
- Decreased appetite (including anorexia); lethargy (very common).
- Urinary tract disorders (cystitis, urinary incontinence, urinary retention, stranguria) (common)
- central nervous system signs (incoordination, disorientation) (common).
- Weight loss/loss of condition; mydriasis (uncommon).
- Panting, seizures, vomiting (rare).
The frequency of adverse reactions is defined using the following convention:
- very common (more than 1 in 10 animals treated displaying adverse reaction(s)
- common (more than 1 but less than 10 animals in 100 animals treated)
- uncommon (more than 1 but less than 10 animals in 1,000 animals treated)
- rare (more than 1 but less than 10 animals in 10,000 animals treated)
- very rare (less than 1 animal in 10,000 animals treated, including isolated reports)
Is Reconcile suitable for long term use?
They need to be used alongside behavioural training by a recognised certified animal behaviourist. The length of time they will be prescribed is as your vet and behaviourist decides.
How long does it take for Reconcile to work?
Improvement may be seen in 1-2 weeks.
Does Reconcile Tablets cause constipation and/or diarrhoea?
These are not typical reported adverse reactions. If this occurs, please inform your vet.
