What conditions does Noroclav treat?
Treatment of the following infections caused by Beta-lactamase producing strains of bacteria sensitive to amoxicillin in combination with clavulanic acid:
•Skin infections (including superficial and deep pyodermas) caused by susceptible Staphylococci
•Urinary tract infection caused by susceptible Staphylococci or Escherichia coli
•Respiratory infections caused by susceptible Staphylococci
•Enteritis caused by susceptible Escherichia coli
How does Noroclav work?
It is an antibiotic containing Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid which kill specific bacteria
How should I administer Noroclav to my pet?
It is a tablet to give orally, by mouth.
Penicillin’s and cephalosporins may cause hypersensitivity (allergy) following injection, inhalation, ingestion or skin contact. Hypersensitivity to penicillin may lead to cross-reactions to cephalosporins and vice versa. Allergic reactions to these substances may occasionally be serious.
Do not handle this product if you know you are sensitised, or if you have been advised not to work with such preparations.
Handle this product with great care to avoid exposure, taking all recommended precautions.
If you develop symptoms following exposure such as a skin rash, you should seek medical advice and show the doctor this warning. Swelling of the face, lips or eyes or difficulty with breathing are more serious symptoms and require urgent medical attention.
Wash hands after use.
What is the correct dosage of Noroclav for my animal's weight and species?
The correct dose for your animal is as prescribed by your vet. Your vet will follow the data sheet for the medication prescribed and for some medications will adjust this taking into consideration your animal's medical history.
How long should I continue with Noroclav for?
You should continue for the length of time your vet prescribed the medication for. Please read the label your vet has attached to the medication. If you suspect that your pet may be having an adverse reaction to a medication, please contact your vet for advice on continuing the medication.
What should I do if I miss a dose of Noroclav?
If you miss a dose of medication, please contact your vet for advice on when to give the next dose.

What are the side-effects of Noroclav?
Hypersensitivity to Penicillin can lead to an allergic reaction which can occasionally be serious. This could lead to a skin rash, swelling of the eyes, face or lips or difficulty breathing (in the pet or the person handling it). Gastrointestinal signs may occur such as diarrhoea and/or vomiting.
Does Noroclav make dogs thirsty?
This isn’t one of the adverse reactions stated in the datasheet. Speak to your vet if your dog is drinking more.
Is Noroclav the same as Synulox?
They both contain the same drugs.
What is Noroclav used for in cats?
It is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections sensitive to the content of the medication. It is used to treat infections such as skin infections, urinary tract infections and respiratory infections.
Can Noroclav cause constipation and/or diarrhoea and/or vomiting?
Yes, it can do as an adverse reaction.
How long does Noroclav take to work on dogs?
Most cases respond in 5-7 days.
Is Noroclav an antibiotic?
Yes.
Are Noroclav and Metacam compatible?
Yes, if your vet prescribes them both you can use them both together.
Is Noroclav used for kennel cough?
Your vet will prescribe whichever medication they think is suitable. Kennel cough is caused by viruses and or specific bacteria. If your vet believes your dog has a mixture of organisms causing respiratory disease, then they may prescribe it although more specific antibiotics are usually used against the bacteria causing Kennel Cough
Can a female dog feed her pups if on Noroclav tablets?
Your vet will weigh up and discuss with you the risks/benefits.
Can I use Vivitonin and Noroclav at the same time?
There is nothing in the datasheets to specifically say you can’t but please speak to your vet who will be prescribing these medications.
Can my dog have Noroclav tablets and Diazepam?
Please speak to your vet about this as they are prescribing the medications.
Can my dog take Noroclav and Gabapentin together?
Please speak to your vet about this as they are prescribing the medications.
Can Noroclav and steroids be used together?
If your vet prescribes them together, then yes.
Can humans take Noroclav?
No, it is licensed for use in dogs and cats.
