How does Cortavance work?
It contains a corticosterid which reduces inflammation and irritation in the skin.
How should I administer Cortavance to my pet?
Cutaneous use, onto the skin following your vet’s direction.
Before administration, screw the pump spray on the bottle.
The veterinary medicinal product is then applied by activating the pump spray, from a distance of about 10 cm of the area to be treated.
The recommended dosage is 1.52 μg of hydrocortisone aceponate/cm2 of affected skin per day. This dosage can be achieved with two pump spray activations over a surface to be treated equivalent to a square of 10 cm x 10 cm.
What is the correct dosage of Cortavance for my animal's weight and species?
The correct dose for your animal is as prescribed by your vet. Your vet will follow the data sheet for the medication prescribed and for some medications will adjust this taking into consideration your animal's medical history.
How long should I continue with Cortavance for?
You should continue for the length of time your vet prescribed the medication for. Please read the label your vet has attached to the medication. If you suspect that your pet may be having an adverse reaction to a medication, please contact your vet for advice on continuing the medication.
What should I do if I miss a dose of Cortavance?

What is Cortavance spray for dogs?
It is a spray to be applied to the skin of dogs to help treat itchy and inflamed skin. It helps with conditions such as atopic dermatitis.
How to use Cortavance spray for dogs?
Use it as prescribed by your vet. Wash your hands after use and avoid contact with your eyes. Don’t handle your dog until it is dry. Screw the pump onto the bottle. Activate the spray at about 10 cm from the area to be sprayed. Apply two pump sprays over an area of approximately 10cm x 10cm for as many days as your vet has prescribed.
Can Cortavance be used in dog’s ears?
It is licensed for use on the skin, not in dog’s ears.
Does Cortavance expire?
Yes, it will have a visible expiry date on the product.
How long does it take for Cortavance to work?
It usually works quite quickly.
Is Cortavance a steroid?
Yes, it contains corticosteroid.
Why is Cortavance prescription only?
