What are Cerenia tablets for dogs? 
Cerenia is a prescription medication to help prevent nausea. 

 

How to give Cerenia to cats? 
Cerenia injection is usually administered by your veterinary surgeon unless they have trained you in how to inject your cat. 

 
Cerenia tablets are only given to cats ‘off license’ as they are not licensed for use in cats. If your cat has been prescribed them, they need to be given orally. A light meal before dosing is advisable. 

 

Can Cerenia be crushed? 
This may delay the onset of its effect; it is not recommended to administer wrapped in food. 

 

Can Cerenia cause constipation in dogs? 
This is not a side effect mentioned in the data sheet. 

 

Does Cerenia help with diarrhoea in dogs 
It is a drug to help prevent nausea, it does not treat diarrhoea. 

 

Does Cerenia make cats sleepy? 
The injectable form can very rarely make cats lethargic. 
The tablet form of the drug is given off license to cats, it is licensed for dogs, so there is no information on this however it can, rarely, make dogs lethargic.
