How to apply Advocate for dogs?

Hold the pipette upright, twist and pull off the cap, reverse the cap and use it to twist and remove the seal from the pipette. Part the coat between the shoulder blades until the skin is visible, apply to undamaged skin, squeeze the pipette firmly to empty its contents. For dogs over 25 kg, make sure the dog is standing and apply evenly in 3 or 4 spots along the top of the back from between the shoulders to the base of the tail. Don’t apply so much that it runs down the coat.

How long after Advocate can I bathe my dog? It is not good if the product enters watercourses, so don’t bathe or allow your dog to swim for 4 days after application.

What is Advocate for cats? Advocate is a topically applied prescription medication that contains Imidacloprid and Moxidectin, which treats and prevents fleas, treats ear mites, Notoedric mange, treats lungworm, eye worm, heartworm, and roundworm.

Does Advocate protect against ticks? No

Does Advocate treat lungworm in cats? Yes

How does Advocate flea treatment work? Within a day, it is rapidly spread over the animal's skin, then absorbed and distributed through the body. Imidacloprid interferes with certain specific receptors (nicotinergic acetylcholine receptors) in the nervous systems of lice and fleas, which results in their subsequent paralysis and death. Moxidectin causes paralysis and death of parasites by interfering with the way signals are passed between nerve cells (neurotransmission) in the parasites’ nervous system.

How long does it take for Advocate to work? It takes 24-48 hours to reach its maximum level in the blood.

How often should I worm my dog with Advocate? It depends on which worms you want to treat, but ideally to prevent lungworm, use it every month.

Is Advantage and Advocate the same? No

Can Advocate make my dog sick? Vomiting can occur as a side effect but rarely.
